AMD says new Opteron is coming soon

Advanced Micro Devices will imminently release its Opteron Revision F which is the latest dual-core chip for servers. The chip’s bragging rights include support for DDR2 memory, AMD’s virtualization scheme and a redesigned motherboard socket (although what was wrong with the old socket isn’t entirely clear). The chip is intended to compete against Intel’s new 5100 series.
