Asus Eee PC: priced at last

Well, it’s about darn time. At this point, I feel like I know everything that there is to know about Asus’ tiny Eee PC–what’s inside of it, what its ridiculous name means, what its favorite color is–except for its price. So it comes as welcome news that pricing for the Eee PC has finally been announced: the high-end model (8GB SSD, 1GB RAM) will retail for $399 while the low-end model (2GB SSD, 256MB RAM) clocks in at $299. While that high-end model isn’t looking too shabby at 400 clams, does anyone else think that $300 might be a bit pricey for a machine with only 256MB of RAM and 2GB of storage? Ah well, I guess if you’re interested in the Eee PC you’re only looking to perform the most basic of tasks anyway. As we mentioned earlier, look for it at BestBuy and Newegg by the end of the month.
