Dell/Ubuntu PCs coming soon to SMBs, Europe

Linux fans working in SMBs and living on the other side of the pond, take heart: Dell CEO and founder Michael Dell announced the company’s Ubuntu-sporting PCs will be making their way into new markets soon. At a launch event for the company’s new SMB line of machines, Dell stressed the company’s commitment to searching out new markets. “We have introduced some additional (Linux) models, and our latest Inspiron launch added some other systems to our Linux roster, and we do have plans to expand into small businesses and to expand outside of the U.S. and into Europe,” Dell said. No specific timeline was given, though given Dell’s quick launch of Ubuntu PCs here in the states, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a launch later this year.
