How to: Control multiple machines without a KVM switch

If you’re an IT guy or gal, there’s a good chance that you’ve got a couple of machines sitting underneath your desk. Whilst Synergy is indeed a neat solution is is not with out a downside. Using it will mean that all of your keyboard and mouse activity will be transmitted across the network. This is why this solution is not allowed in most commercial applications.
