IBM to launch Tivoli Process Manager

Thanks to some recent acquisitions, IBM is about ready to rollout Tivoli Process Manager, a set of unified management tools that utilize electronic sensors to keep track of IT physical assets, including–but not limited to–IT gear.  “Non-IT assets are getting embedded chips, embedded software stacks and IP (Internet protocol) addresses,” said Al Zollar, general manager of IBM’s Tivoli division. “They have to be managed just like servers and desktops.” With the debut of Tivoli Process Manager, IBM hopes to offer a system for asset management that’s so intuitive, even high-level management can use it.
