Intel partnering for enterprise mobile tech

Amid several unsurprising chip announcements, Intel also announced a VoIP and WiFi partnership with Cisco Systems yesterday. For the VoIP side, they’ll combine strengths to tackle quality-of-service problems. Regarding WiFi, they plan to develop access-point optimization methods for mobile users, such as sniffing based on security level and signal strength. Intel also announced a partnership with Panasonic to make laptop batteries work for eight hours by 2008.
