Intel’s Menlow UMPC chipset to power OS X portables?

Now that we know all about Intel’s plans for Linux-powered UMPCs, it’s time to start speculating about what else we might run on the recently announced hardware. Mark Parker, Chief Evangelist for Intel’s Ultra Mobility Group, let slip that Apple’s OS may be a strong possibility in the future. When asked about the possibility of OS X running on the 45nm Menlow architecture, he responded, “Absol… you know? I bet you could, because the iPhone is going to be running OS X.” Hmmm. Could this mean that Apple’s next generation of portable devices (be they iPhones or UMPCs) might run on the Menlow platform? Your guess is as good as mine for now, though Parker certainly does make it seem like a possibility.
