Vista: biggest disappointment of 2007?

Allow me to let you in on a little journalism secret: year-end lists exist solely for the purpose of enticing huge numbers of clicks with a few well-placed sensational headlines. So take this one with a grain of salt: PC World just released their list of "the 15 Biggest Tech Disappointments of 2007" and guess who came in first? Okay, we have to admit, this isn't a complete surprise, what with the compatibility issues, speed problems and general enterprise apathy that Vista faced this year. "No wonder so many users are clinging to XP like shipwrecked sailors to a life raft, while others who made the upgrade are switching back," PC World writes. "And when the fastest Vista notebook PC World has ever tested is an Apple MacBook Pro, there's something deeply wrong with the universe." Ouch. Before you go accusing PC World of fanboyism, however, I'd suggest checking out #5 on their list...
