HP acquires mobile management developer Bitfone
December 20, 2006 — 8:01pm ET
Bitfone, a developer of mobile device management software, has announced that it has been acquired by HP’s handheld group. Bitfone’s software allows IT staff to track mobile devices in real-time–be they Treos, BlackBerrys or BlackJacks–and even allows for over-the-air firmware updates, eliminating the need to corral your sales team. The deal, the details of which were not announced, will be closed in February.
